Our tonewoods originate from the best regions of Bavaria, Austria, Switzerland and Bosnia. We are proud to say that all our instruments are made from at least 30-year-old matured tonewoods of the highest quality. Our carefully selected maple impresses by its unique grain and flaming. Furthermore, the narrow-grain spruce top guarantees an especially rich and brilliant sound because of its special properties. The fingerboard, the purfling as well as the upper and lower saddle are made from high-quality ebony wood.
We varnish all our instruments with a traditional spirit hand-varnish to our own recipe. To achieve an excellent result we have to apply up to 25 thin layers. Our varnish stands out with its unique finish, deep transparency and stunning colour intensity. Furthermore, we treat the inside of the violin with our special propolis solution. This conserves the wood, protects it against humidity and a gives the violin a pleasant honey scent.
Many factors are crucial for creating the full and brilliant sound of our violins. Only due to our experience of several decades we are able to combine all of those into perfection. We build our instruments in absolute precision work to guarantee the best possible quality. Looks are important to us, and this is recognisable by cleanly cut corners, a beautifully carved scroll and many more finesses.
All of our instruments are equipped with an ideally adjusted set up. The bridge and soundpost are optimised for the sound characteristics of the violin. Through this, we achieve a breathtaking sound and excellent playability. We solely use premium tailpieces, pegs and chinrest from “Tempel” or “Josef Teller” and high-quality soundposts and bridges from renowned brands like “Aubert” and “Despiau” When it comes to strings, we use the top lines of renowned brands like “Pirastro” or “Thomastik Infeld”.
